Nurse Aide
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Nurse Aide
STATUS: Non-exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are a multifunction Senior Center looking for a dependable person willing to work and stay busy along with the rest of the team. The Dementia Adult Day Care program uses a mixture of both structured and unstructured 1:1 and small group activities that stimulate multiple senses, reminisce, and draw upon remaining capacities. We tailor activities to the functional and cognitive level of individual participants. We provide a supportive environment that reduces the level of participant anxiety, inactivity, and promotes a sense of personhood and identity. Responsibilities vary from participant to participant and include the routine care provided in an in-home setting.
The position is full-time Monday – Friday 8:00-4:00 time could vary depending on the needs of the participants. Our services are available from 6:00 – 6:00 for caregivers who’s loved one may need care outside of normal program hours. The Program Director is responsible for approving and scheduling these after hour accommodations.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Must have an outgoing, friendly personality and show commitment to always exceeding expectations.
- Must be a hardworking, team player
- Able to work holidays, weekends, and evenings as necessary
- Must be able to lift and carry 65lbs.
- Computer experience is an advantage.
- Other health care experiences are an asset.
- Proof of clear criminal record check
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Transportation.
- Provide basic nursing functions: bathing, dressing, feeding, transferring, ambulation, and positioning
- Able to take temperature, respiration, pulse, blood pressure
- Follow standard/universal precaution and infection control principles
- Read and follow care plans and report any change in participant’s health condition to the program director in a timely manner
- Document patient care and health changes according to policy
- Timely response participant needs and works as a team within the scope of practice
- Demonstrate commitment to participant centered care and culture change initiatives
- Transport participants to activities and programs and assist in or execute activities when possible
- Understands and supports the mission and philosophy of the facility
- Conveys professional and caring image
- Knows Fire Disaster and Tornado Plans and follows procedures.
