Volunteers
Volunteers are very important for the success of the Center. Several people of all ages volunteer their time and talent. A majority of the volunteers are registered with the RSVP program of Monroe County. RSVP volunteers earn a meal allowance and mileage while they volunteer their time. Volunteers help in a variety of ways.
There are a variety of ways you can volunteer your time at the Center.
Reception Desk volunteers serve as the face of the Newark Senior Center, answering questions for members and visitors, giving tours. Desk volunteers serve in two shifts, 9am – 12:00 pm and then 12:00pm to 4pm, Monday through Friday.

Newsletter Mailing volunteers gather once at the end of each month to help with labeling and sorting the 750+ newsletters that are mailed to our members on a monthly basis. The mailing date for the upcoming month is listed on the activities page of the Center newsletter. The project runs from about 8:30am to 10am. You are welcome to walk in and help at any time.

Rummage Sale volunteers are needed to help with our bi-annual rummage sale, held in June and October. Volunteers help with set up and then staffing the checkout booth at the sale. No experience needed. This is one of the best opportunities for meeting fellow members at the Center.
